FAQ

HVAC website design FAQ

Straight answers to the questions HVAC owners and general managers ask before hiring a web design agency. If your question is not here, send it through the contact page and we will answer it directly.

01

Working with us

Do you only work with HVAC companies?

Yes. HVAC by Pixcel builds websites and automations for residential and light-commercial heating and air contractors. If you also offer plumbing or electrical work, we can include those services on your site. Our process, page structure and checklists are built around HVAC calls, seasons and maintenance agreements, so that is where we focus.

Which states do you work in?

We focus on California, Florida, Texas, New York and Pennsylvania (plus Minneapolis and the Twin Cities), the five states with the most HVAC contractor establishments. Working in a few markets lets us understand each one's climate, seasonal demand, licensing and search behaviour in depth. If you operate in another state, contact us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.

Who on my team needs to be involved?

The owner or general manager for direction and approvals, and ideally one CSR or office manager who answers the phones. Your CSRs know what callers ask and where bookings fall through, and that shapes the pages and forms. We keep meetings short and send work for review in clear rounds, so nobody is pulled away during the busy season.

How do we communicate during a project?

You have one main contact at HVAC by Pixcel from kickoff through launch. We share progress in short written updates and recorded Loom walkthroughs, so you can review work on your own schedule instead of sitting through calls. Decisions come to you as clear options with our recommendation, and we confirm each approval in writing.

Can you work alongside our current ads manager or SEO provider?

Yes. If you already have someone running Google Ads or SEO, we share access, align tracking and build landing pages that match their campaigns. If something conflicts with the website, such as tracking numbers that create inconsistent phone details across your listings, we raise it with you and suggest a fix.

02

Design & build

Do you use templates?

We use a consistent HVAC page structure, because certain things belong on every heating and air site: click-to-call, booking, license, reviews and financing. The design, copy, photos and service-area pages are created for your company. We do not resell another contractor's site with a new logo, and we do not use off-the-shelf theme demos.

Which platform do you build on?

We build on WordPress or Webflow, depending on how your team wants to edit the site and which integrations you need. Both are widely used, can be moved to another provider and let you own your content. We recommend one after the audit and explain the reasons in plain terms.

Will my site be fast on mobile?

Speed is part of the build, not an afterthought. A homeowner with a no-cool problem is often searching on a phone, so we compress images, limit third-party scripts and test against Core Web Vitals using Google PageSpeed Insights. We check results before launch and keep monitoring them on care plans.

Do you write the content?

Yes. We write the copy for every page using what we learn from you, your CSRs and your market, and you approve it before launch. We write about your real services, the equipment brands you install, your financing options and your service area. We never invent reviews, awards or results.

Is the website accessible?

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA. That covers color contrast, keyboard navigation, form labels, text alternatives for images and motion that respects reduced-motion settings. Accessible sites are easier for every customer to use, including older homeowners and anyone using a screen reader. We test with automated tools and manual checks before launch.

03

SEO & leads

How do you help us rank in the map pack?

Map pack rankings depend heavily on your Google Business Profile, reviews and distance to the searcher, and your website supports all of them. We keep your business name, address and phone details consistent, build service and service-area pages with real local content, and link them correctly from your profile. We also set up review requests so new reviews keep arriving.

What are service-area pages and do we need them?

Service-area pages describe the work you do in a specific city or neighborhood. Done well, they help you rank beyond your office address and show homeowners that you serve their area. Done badly, with the city name swapped into copied text, they add little value and Google may ignore them. We write each one with real local detail.

Do you work with Google Local Services Ads?

Yes, from the website side. We make sure your website, Google Business Profile and LSA profile tell the same story, with consistent license details, service areas and reviews. For Google Ads campaigns, we build dedicated landing pages with call tracking, so you can see which campaigns produce booked jobs rather than clicks.

What is missed-call text-back?

When a call goes unanswered, the system sends the caller a text right away, so they can reply or book instead of calling the next contractor on the list. It helps most during peak season, after hours and when every CSR is on another line. We set it up with your phone or call tracking provider and route replies to your team.

How will we know if the site is producing leads?

We set up Google Analytics 4, call tracking and form tracking, and where your field service software allows it, we connect leads to booked jobs. Reports show calls, form leads, bookings and the pages that drove them. We avoid reporting impressions on their own, because they do not tell you whether trucks are rolling.

04

Pricing & ownership

Who owns the website and domain?

You do. The domain is registered in your company's name, and you own the site content, copy, photos and analytics data. If you ever leave, we hand over the files and logins another provider needs to take over. We never hold domains, profiles or accounts back as a way to keep your business.

Are there long-term contracts?

No. A build package is a defined project with a written scope. Care and growth plans run month to month after launch. We would rather keep your business by doing good work every month than by locking you into an agreement that is hard to leave.

Why do packages differ in price?

The difference comes from scope: the number of service and service-area pages, the automations included, the connections to your field service software and the level of ongoing SEO. Every package includes a custom design and the HVAC conversion basics. We recommend the smallest package that meets your goals.

Is the free homepage concept really free?

Yes. We design a homepage concept for your company and send a recorded Loom walkthrough within 5 business days. There is no obligation to hire us. We offer it because seeing your own company on a new homepage answers more questions than a sales call can.

What ongoing costs should we budget for?

Plan for a care plan if you want us to host and maintain the site, plus any third-party software you choose, such as call tracking, a review platform or online booking in your field service software. Ad spend is separate and paid to Google. We list every recurring cost in writing before you sign.
